Academic Support Center

This center has tutoring, computers, printers, cookies, and more. Don’t miss out on these free perks. Check out the Academic Support Center on the first floor of the Student Union Building on the university campus and the Technology Building at City College.

College Success Specialists

Do you need some help getting organized, taking notes, or just getting comfortable with the college environment? Contact your College Success Specialist, who can help you be successful and get connected to your academic college.

Steven Peterman is an MSUB graduate who has worked with thousands of students on campus for more than a decade. Now he specifically helps City College students be successful. Find him in Jacket Student Central in the Technology Building at City College.

Jennifer Pope can help you get adjusted to your future in the College of Allied Health Professions. A former sociology instructor, she knows what professors expect from students. Find her in Apsaruke Hall in room 107.

Bryan Grove, an enthusiastic mentor, hails from the College of Business. He’s an avid cross country runner, so he knows all about setting goals and meeting them. Find him in McDonald Hall in room 209.

Gillette Vaira is an MSUB graduate and former journalist who works with College of Education students. She can help you get connected on campus and develop a plan of attack for that hardcore class. Find her in the College of Education in room 116.

Richard Raridon represents the College of Arts and Sciences. Having worked in multiple areas of higher education, he can help you navigate the university landscape and discover your passion. Find him in the College of Education in room 117.

Disability Support Services

This resource center provides services to students with disabilities. Get a sign language interpreter, request longer test-taking times, or obtain access to a note-taker. Utilize these services and more at Disability Support Services, located in the College of Education in room 135.

Diversity Center

The Diversity Center can be your home away from home. Open to all students, the Diversity Center focuses on developing outreach for minority and international students. You can find the Diversity Center on the second floor of the Student Union Building.

Library

Use the Library’s plethora of online and on-campus resources, including books, e-books, journals, magazines, DVDs, computers, and printers. Plus, check to see if your instructor has a copy of your course’s textbook on reserve. Visit the Library on the west end of the university campus. The Community Library and Testing Center is located in the Technology Building at City College.

Student Health Services

Visit Student Health Services for any ailment large or small. The clinic has registered nurses, nurse practitioners, mental health counselors, a massage therapist, health education programming, and more. Health insurance is not required in order to use their services. Students taking seven or more credits pay for Student Health Services in their student fees, so they don’t need any money in their pockets in order to visit the clinic. Students taking six or fewer credits can pay an optional fee in order to utilize Student Health Services. Find Student Health Services on the second floor of Petro Hall on the university campus or on the second floor of the Technology Building at City College.

Student Opportunity Services

SOS/TRiO provides support for students seeking academic development by offering tutoring and mentoring services. Any student who is low income, is a first-generation college student, or has a documented disability is eligible to apply. Find SOS/TRiO in Library 141 on the university campus.
