MSU Billings Vice Chancellor of Student Access and Success finalists announced

MSU BILLINGS NEWS—The MSU Billings Vice Chancellor of Student Access and Success (VCSAS) Search Committee invites MSUB students, staff, faculty, and the community to interact with the finalists as they visit campus. An open forum will be held in Library 148 at 4 p.m. on the below dates. These sessions are open to the public.

  • Friday, Feb. 22 – Cheryl Johannes
  • Tuesday, Feb. 26 – Carmen Panlilio
  • Thursday, Feb. 28 – Kimberly Hayworth

During the forum, candidates will speak to “Enrollment and Retention Strategies for Montana State University Billings.” The schedule includes time for attendees to ask questions and provide valuable feedback to the search committee. 

 

Cheryl Johannes is currently the Director of Admissions and Records and the Registrar at MSUB. She joined the university in 2001, first serving as an Academic Advisor and then advancing to Director of Advising. Johannes holds three degrees from Montana State University, including a Doctorate of Education with emphasis on Higher Education Administration, and a master’s in Public Administration.

 

Carmen Panlilio most recently served as the Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management & Student Affairs for Purdue University Northwest in Hammond, Ind. She holds a Ph.D. in Urban Systems from Rutgers University in N.J., as well as a master’s in Behavioral Science from Kean University in N.J. Prior to working for Purdue, Panlilio served at New Jersey City University in Jersey City, N.J., beginning as the Director of Financial Aid, and finishing as the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management. 

 

Kimberly Hayworth currently serves as the Vice President for Student Development and Success (SDS), as well as the Executive Director for University Retention and Persistence at Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, Mich. Hayworth began her career at Spring Arbor as an Admissions Representative. She holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University as well as a master’s in Business Administration from Spring Arbor.

 

The search committee for VCSAS is comprised of Heather Thompson-Bahm, Trevor Belnap, Laura Gittings-Carlson, Dr. John Dorr, Dawn Githens, Chase Greenfield, Bill Kennedy, Aaron Like, Kelly McCoy, Joseph McGeshick, Nate Millward, Krista Montague, Shannon Wilcox, Darrel Williams, and Emily Williamson. The co-chairs for the search committee are: Paul Foster and Kaelen Shay (student).

 

The permanent Vice Chancellor for Student Access and Success should be in place no later than July 1, 2019.
