MSU BILLINGS NEWS—Montana State University Billings art student Amber Disney hosts her senior capstone exhibition, Some Were Heavy, Nov. 8 through Nov. 16. in the student gallery of the Liberal Arts building. An artist reception will be held Thursday, Nov. 8 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Some Were Heavy is about sharing experiences from the eyes of someone living and working in the West. The artist reveals the adventures and the memories they create through the act of drawing. The artwork exhibits the adrenaline of riding a fresh horse on a crisp morning or the serenity that is felt when exploring the mountain wilderness on horseback. Immerse yourself into the world of someone who is passionate about their work and bringing these experiences to life through art.

Disney is a traditional visual artist pursuing her Bachelors of Art Education at Montana State University Billings. She was born and raised in Lewistown, Mont. Her work focuses on the western way of life as she draws inspiration from her experiences as an equestrian and cowboy living and working in the West. Disney is working towards a career of succeeding, not only as an art educator, but also as a commission artist.

The show and reception are free and open to the public. Parking on campus is free after 5 p.m.
