Academic Senate Announces Meeting to Discuss New Programs

Dear Faculty,

The Academic Senate is taking a new approach to curriculum being developed for new academic programs at MSUB.  The Senate will hold one informal meeting each semester to discuss the curriculum that will necessarily follow from new program development.  We invite the parties working on such proposal to contact Rita Rabe Meduna to be scheduled for one of the meetings listed below. The Senate does not expect a formal proposal. Instead, we are interested in  discussing the preliminary market analysis and projected course content in an effort to avoid competition with existing programs and to establish the appropriate curricular homes for the needed coursework.

The next meeting will be held:

March 1, 2018 at 3:40 p.m. in the CCR (McMullen 209)

Questions about new programs can be directed to:

Susan Gilbertz, Chair, Academic Senate

Robert Hoar, Provost

Rita Rabe Meduna, Assistant, Academic Senate

The Senate looks forward to working with you.

Sincerely,

Susan Gilbertz

Academic Senate Chairperson

Billings, MT – Students, faculty, staff, and graduates of MSU Billings are invited to participate in National TRIO Week, the week of February 26th. For millions of students nationwide, TRIO programs provide resources and guidance for low-income, first generation (neither parent has a bachelor’s degree), and college students with disabilities who strive to graduate from college.

At MSUB, the TRIO Student Support Services (TRIO/SSS) program has been helping students for 45 years. The program at MSUB helps students who are US citizens to obtain their bachelor’s degree. Today, over a thousand colleges, universities, and community agencies host more than 2,800 TRIO projects that serve more than 828,000 young people and adults.

To celebrate the success of TRIO/SSS at MSUB, various activities have been planned.

“TRIO Students Support Services helped me improve my grades and get through college when I was a student in Pennsylvania,” says Stephen Stefan, Academic Counselor for TRIO/SSS at MSUB. “TRIO programs really work and I encourage all college students to look into joining TRIO no matter where they are attending classes.”
