Ricardo Lemvo and Makina Loca coming to Billings this week

MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Montana State University Billings Music Department presents concerts by Ricardo Lemvo and Makina Loca on April 13 and 14. Lemvo and two members of his performance group, Ricardo Lemvo and Makina Loca, will be performing at a free concert at the Montana Galley on Friday, April 13, from 7-9 p.m.

 

They will be guest artists performing with John Roberts y Pan Blanco at the Yellowstone Valley Brewing Company on April 14 from 6- 8 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door.

 

Joining Ricardo are Nseka Bimwela (Huit Kilos), an influential African guitarist, and Steve Giraldo, Latin trumpet player extraordinaire.  Read more about Ricardo Lemvo and Makina Loca at http://www.makinaloca.com/.

 

While visiting Billings, Ricardo Lemvo will be  a guest lecturer for the World Music class at MSUB. Class is held in the library building, room 148 at 12:50 p.m. Lemvo, a multi-lingual songwriter and performer, will be discussing the history of Congolese music with students. This lecture is free and open to the public and campus.
