MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Veterans Day is almost here and there are some MSUB events this week to honor and celebrate our veterans.  As a reminder, MSUB’s offices will be closed and no classes will be held on Friday, Nov. 10 in observance of Veterans Day.

On Thursday, Nov. 9 at 11:45 a.m. the Native American Achievement Center will host the eighth annual Veteran’s Medicine Wheel event beginning in Library room 148. The opening ceremony will be held indoors and includes narration of the story of the Medicine Wheel, presentation of flags and pledge of allegiance by MSUB ROTC color guard, and musical performances by MSUB students.

Following the indoor ceremony, students, faculty, staff and Billings community members are invited to gather on the north lawn of the College of Education to help build a medicine wheel in honor of veterans and Native American college students. Participants are encouraged to honor the veterans in their life by writing the veteran’s name on a rock and placing it in the medicine wheel.

This event is free, open to the public, and will be held regardless of inclement weather. For more information on the Veteran’s Medicine Wheel contact Reno Charette at 657-2144 or rcharette@msubillings.edu.

MSU Billings and Rocky Mountain College ROTC will salute our veterans with a Veteran’s Day Run on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 9 a.m. at the top parking lot at MetraPark. The invitation to the run is attached. Support the ROTC program by running or walking in the 5k and 10k races.
