International Students
The number of international students attending college in the United States has increased significantly over the years. Some of the challenges that international students may face:
- Language barriers
- Pressure of academic performance
- Isolation
- Cultural transitions
- Lack of appropriate resources
- Challenging financing options
These factors can also lead to an increase of victimization. The MSUB Phoenix Center recognizes the different challenges that international students may experience. We strive to offer confidential, free, inclusive care, advocacy and support during your time of healing.
In the case of a language barrier, survivors have the right to have Language Line Services free of charge when speaking with a sexual assault advocate both over the phone and in-person. These arrangements can be made immediately or planned in advance.
