About the Health Scholars Program

The City College Health Scholars (CCHS) Program is a short, non-credit course designed to launch students into college-level science coursework with confidence, realistic expectations, and a supportive peer network. Grounded in an asset-based community model, the program recognizes that students enter with unique strengths, experiences, and perspectives.

Rather than just reviewing content, the course fosters a cohort of like-minded individuals who will serve as a mutual support system throughout their higher education journey. This workshop empowers participants to identify their own learning assets while collaborating with peers to build a resilient professional community.
