City College at MSUB hosts auto body poker run

MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — City College at Montana State University Billings will be hosting its Auto Body Poker Run on Saturday, April 28. Check in will run from 8:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. in the City College Tech Building Commons.
This event is open to junior high and high school students, as well as families, who may be interested in a career in auto body, or would just like learn more about the auto body industry.
After check in, participants will travel throughout Billings to participating auto body shops to learn more about careers in auto body. From there, students will receive a playing card from each sponsor that will ultimately make up a full poker hand.
At each auto body location, participants will be able to talk to industry experts and ask about career opportunities in the auto body field. This will give students the chance to explore education paths while exploring cutting-edge auto body technology.
Participating businesses in this year’s event include Blue Body & Paint, Track Side Auto Body Paint and Specialists, AA Truck Collision LLC, Big Sky Collision Center, American Auto Body, CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts, and Denny Menholt Chevrolet.
Upon arrival back at City College, the participants with the best poker hands will have the opportunity to win Montana Rib and Chop House gift certificates, tools, and more. Prizes will be presented during an awards ceremony at 2 p.m.

The Automobile Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology program at City College is Montana’s only post-secondary Automobile Collision Repair and Refinishing program that trains students to take damaged vehicles and get them back on the road looking like new.
Our “hands on approach to education and high-tech lab setting give students the confidence and skills that they need to estimate the cost of a repair job, repair damage to the frame and body of vehicles, and refinish repaired surfaces,” says Steven Wodrich, collision repair and refinish instructor.
Rounding out the day’s events will be the National Autobody Council and Recycled Rides Car Give-a-way at City College, in conjunction with the Poker Run awards presentation.The Automobile Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology program fixed up a car which will be presented to a deserving, local family chosen through Love, Inc.
