The Billings Friendship Family (BFF) program is an incredibly popular and fruitful program that connects our international students with families in the Billings community.

International Student at BFF Event with family

International students benefit exponentially from having an American family during their stay, allowing them to better integrate, learn the culture and share a deeper connection with Billings, Montana and the U.S. In turn, Billings families that participate in the program get the amazing benefit of interacting with dynamic and impressionable students from around the world.

There are no fees or obligations ... everything is flexible and intended to be fun. International Studies matches students with their families based upon shared interests and personalities. We prefer to match BFFs prior to the students' initial arrival to MSUB to allow the BFF the opportunity to pick their student up from the airport and make that first impression and establish a connection straight away. This is not a requirement for BFF family participation, but is preferred.

Typically BFF families have their students over for dinner, invite them to local attractions or even host them during holiday breaks. The time commitment is your choice and the creativity is endless.

If you have any questions about the program, please email ois@msubillings.edu or call 406-657-1705.
