MSUB Emergency Notification (Notification color = Red)

An Emergency Notification may be issued immediately upon confirmation of a significant emergency or dangerous situation occurring on campus that involves an immediate threat to the health or safety of campus community members. An “immediate” threat is defined as an imminent or impending threat, such as an approaching forest fire, or a fire currently raging in one of your buildings.

An Emergency Notification may be sent via carillon (PA system), campus phones, email, text message, MSUB Facebook and Twitter accounts, and will show up on MSUB’s website as a red horizontal band describing the nature of the issue. A text message will be sent to the mobile number and/or your email address you specify in Banner (MSUB students and employees) or enter in the Emergency Notification System (as a community member).

MSUB Timely Warning (Warning color = Yellow)

A Timely Warning is issued when there is a serious threat of a crime—or a crime occurring or that could be repeated--so that campus community members can protect themselves from harm, in compliance with the federal Clery Act.

Timely Warnings may be sent via email, text message, MSUB Facebook and Twitter accounts, and will show up on MSUB’s website as a yellow horizontal band describing the nature of the issue. A text message will be sent to the mobile number and/or your email address you specify in Banner (MSUB students and employees) or enter in the Emergency Notification System (as a community member).

MSUB Public Safety Advisory (Advisory color = Green)

A Public Safety Advisory may be issued when there is a danger affecting the safety and welfare of campus community members.

A Public Safety Advisory may be sent via email, text message, MSUB Facebook and Twitter accounts, and will show up on MSUB’s website as a green horizontal band describing the nature of the issue. A text message will be sent to the mobile number and/or your email address in Banner (MSUB students and employees) or enter in the Emergency Notification System (as a community member).
