Nursing Licensure Disclosures
The City College ASN program is fully approved by the Montana State Board of Nursing. Upon successful completion of the program, you are eligible to sit for the National Council of State Boards Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become a Registered Nurse.
The City College Montana State University Billings Associate Degree in Nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
Nursing has compact state licensing. If the state you are licensed in is a compact state (Montana is), you can take your license and practice as a nurse in any other state which is a compact state without paying for a license in that state. The NCLEX exam is a national test, so you also would not have to retest. Varying continuing education (CEU) hours may apply. In addition to the educational requirements for licensure in Montana, the following additional requirements must be met:
- Passage of the NCLEX_RN
Students should also be aware that criminal background, citizenship status, residency, age, and other factors may be a condition for licensure in Montana.
