This exhibition of ceramic sculpture and installation captures moments of action, emotion, and intensity.
Through a deep-seated connection to the dynamic nature of clay, Grayson Fair works naturally to
preserve a junction between joy and grief. Often, the work is pushed too far and collapses. But those
brief moments before failure are where Fair finds inspiration.

Grayson Fair is an artist based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He attended the University of North Texas and
received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2016. He studied sculpture, drawing, fibers, and majored in
ceramics. In 2018 he spent a year as an Artist in residence in Taos, New Mexico. In 2019 he moved to
Northern Arizona for a residency at the Reitz Ranch. In 2020, he moved to Pomona, CA for an Artist
residency at AMOCA (American Museum of Ceramic Art). From Southern California he moved to
Montana where he spent two years as the Woodfire Resident at the Clay Studio of Missoula. He then
moved to Omaha, to work as a studio assistant to Jun Kaneko. His introduction to ceramics was through
functional pottery, but now his focus is nonobjective, action-based sculpture.
