Neil TeachingOn Friday, March 24 at 10:30am Neil Chaput de Saintonge will offer a free public lecture on developments in digital photographic equipment in Library Room 148 (the lecture hall next to Northcutt Steele Gallery). This highly informative lecture will be of benefit to photographers just getting started and to seasoned shooters who could benefit from learning more about today’s cameras.

While covering both mirrorless and DSLR camera systems, Chaput de Saintonge will touch on over 20 different features to look for when buying a camera such as GPS, wifi capabilities, high ISO performance and fast auto-focus capabilities. He will provide information on various makes and models of camera, and many of their features, and offer a list of helpful websites for attendees to reference.

The second part of the lecture will cover the multitude of lenses on the market. Chaput de Saintonge will cover several lens features that are important to consider before purchasing, and he’ll offer tips on how you can save money in the process. He will discuss on- and off-brand models for DSLR and Mirrorless camera systems. Whether you photograph sports, landscapes, people or a bit of everything, choosing a lens is an important decision that will greatly impact your images.
