MSU Billings Student Gallery
April 1 - April 12, 2013
Reception: Thursday, April 4, 5-7:0 pm
Hours: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm M-F

Patrick Mueller, a senior art student at Montana State University Billings (MSUB), will be presenting his Senior Exhibition titled “Origins” in the Student Gallery on the first floor of the Liberal Arts Building beginning April 1 and will be on display through April 12.

Mueller OriginsMueller works in a variety of sculptural mediums, including glass, steel, and mixed media, which he uses as a means of self-exploration. Inspired by cycles and repetition found in nature, Mueller’s work explores physical, as well as inner worlds. Through the processes of art making and inner exploration, Mueller aims to answer his own questions, and discover new ones, which prompts him to continue to seek understanding through art.

Mueller will graduate from MSUB in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art/Art History and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. In addition to his educational pursuits, Mueller is also the Student Director for the Northcutt Steele Gallery. A Montana native, Mueller grew up in a small, rural community outside of Billings. Self-exploration through spirituality and artistic production is driving much of the content in his current work. Mueller has exhibited work throughout his academic career in juried exhibitions, local fairs, and public venues.

In conjunction with the opening reception for the annual Juried Student Exhibition at the Northcutt Steele Gallery, a public reception, with refreshments, will be hosted for Mueller on Thursday, April 4, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Mueller’s exhibition will be on view April 1 through April 12, 2013 in the MSUB Student Gallery. The Student Gallery is located next to the Northcutt Steele Gallery, on the first floor of the Liberal Arts Building. Both galleries are open 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, while school is in session.
