Gallery photo of Warhol showThe MSU Billings Art Department and the Northcutt Steele Gallery were pleased to present an exhibition of original photographs by Andy Warhol.

The acquisition of this unique collection is the result of a collaborative effort by longtime MSU Billings Professor Dr. Connie M. Landis, MSU Billings Reference Librarian/Archivist, Eileen Wright, the MSU Billings Art Students’ League and a gift from Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

The Exhibition opened with a lecture entitled Warhol 101 presented by MSU Billings Art Historian Dr. Patricia Vettel-Becker.

Dr. Connie M. Landis spoke briefly at the reception about this remarkable gift from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

A public reception and refreshments followed at 5:00pm and everyone was invited to dress as Andy Warhol for a look-alike contest held at 6:00pm. Winners received cash prizes of $50 and $25 for first and second best costumes and consolation prizes for all who participate.

The Original Andy Warhol Photographic Exhibit was on display from Friday November 5th through Friday December 10th in the Northcutt Steele Gallery on the first floor of the Liberal Arts building at MSU Billings.

The Northcutt Steele Gallery is open for public viewing Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm and there is no admission charge.
