Two Weeks left in 2018 Campus Annual Drive for Excellence

Congratulations to David Powell and Jason Comer, the winners of the 11/5 Campus Annual Drive drawing for a $25 gift card from City Brew.

Additional drawings will be held on 11/12, 11/19, and 11/26 for those who donated to the Campus Annual Drive for Excellence the prior week.

Campus Annual Drive runs until Nov. 21 so there’s still time to get in on the fun.  You can donate online or by filling out the attached pledge card (attached) and returning it to Kristi Oaks at kristi.oaks@msubillings.edu

1 in 4 MSU Billings faculty and staff have already contributed and we thank them for their generosity!  All who donate to the Campus Annual Drive by Nov. 21 will be entered into a drawing for a regular parking pass for one semester and two $100 gift cards from the Sanctuary Spa & Salon.

Nate Millward has been named MSU Billings’ new Budget Director and has just completed his first week on the job.

Millward has over 25 years of accounting experience working for several colleges and organizations throughout Utah. He has worked with college tuition tables and schedules, information systems processing, direction of department offices, managing records, and several other activities in the field of accounting.

Millward received his master’s in Business Information Systems and Education from Utah State University in Logan, Utah. He also holds a bachelor’s in Accounting and an associates in General Education.

Millward began his professional career as an accountant and moved on to become an accounting manager for the Utah State Board of Regents and the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation in Salt Lake City. Prior to being named Budget Director at MSUB, Millward worked as an Assistant Controller for Salt Lake Community College. His experience in that position will aid him greatly in taking on the new responsibilities of this role.

He has been involved with Eagle Scouts and Boy Scouts and a volunteer leader for several years. Millward looks forward to supporting the campus and community through his new position, and MSU Billings is excited to have a new team member on board.

Dear Partners in the Student Course Evaluation Process at MSUB,

During Fall 2018, all four MSU campuses are switching software platforms for student course evaluations from Class Climate to Campus Labs.  MSUB is not changing evaluation instruments just the administration mode in some cases. MSUB will administer all current evaluation instrument forms using an online only format within the new Campus Labs platform.

An email invitation to participate will be sent to students' preferred email.  The email will contain a link to the course evaluations.  In addition, a link will be posted within the D2L platform.

Administration Timeline:

  • Evaluations open Sunday, November 25th
  • Reminder 1, November 30th
  • Reminder 2, December 5th
  • Evaluations close Sunday, December 9th

The shift to an online format for evaluations will require thoughtful and best practice administration to encourage student participation. To improve response rates, students in face-to-face courses can be encouraged to complete these mobile-friendly evaluations in class using electronic devices. Providing class time to complete the evaluation using a cell phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer may maximize participation.  If University Campus faculty would like to use a computer lab for this class time, they should work with their department administrative assistant to schedule time in the nearest computer lab through EMS unless otherwise noted below.

  • Academic Support Center 152 – 27 stations
  • Academic Support Center 153 – 27 stations
  • Academic Support Center open lab – 40 stations
  • College of Education 319 - 31 stations
  • College of Education 401 – 45 stations, schedule with IT Help Desk, x5700
  • College of Education 417 – 30 stations
  • College of Education 421 – 24 stations
  • Information Commons (Basement of Library) – 65 seats, schedule with Chandra Shaw, 657-2262
  • Liberal Arts 121 - 20 stations
  • McDonald Hall 213 – 12 stations
  • McDonald Hall 251 - 41 stations
  • McDonald Hall 308 – 30 stations

Additional resources are posted to the course evaluation webpage under “More Information.” Check back as we are adding content on a regular basis.

We are working diligently to ensure a smooth transition to this new platform for MSUB.  If you have specific questions or concerns, please contact us and we will do our very best to assist you.
