MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Curtis Johnson, a music student at Montana State University Billings and a classical guitarist, will present his senior recital on Friday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Cisel Recital Hall at the MSU Billings University Campus.

The performance is free and open to the public.

 

Johnson will feature works by Ferninando Carulli, Francesco Corbetta, José Ferrer, Baden Powell, Gabriel Fauré, Dionisio Aguado and others. He began his studies of classical guitar with Jeff Morrison nearly 10 years ago and has continued his studies with Elizabeth Adcock at MSU Billings. In 2010, Johnson studied abroad in Castilla y León in Northern Spain to pursue his love of the Spanish guitar. While in Spain, he traveled throughout Portugal and Southern Spain in particular, to the province of Andalucia.

 

Joining Johnson for his recital on Friday will be Adcock, classical guitar, and mezzo-soprano Mary Elizabeth Ryan.
