Our services are provided statewide in Montana and Idaho under Cooperative Agreement #6WIP15050402-05-02 from the Social Security Administration.

The  Montana State University Billings WIPA program has been awarded a grant as part of the Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Improvement Act that was established in 1999. The goal of the WIPA program is to assist Social Security Disability beneficiaries to make informed choices about work and to support working beneficiaries to make a successful transition to self-sufficiency.

ARE YOU....

  • Currently receiving SSI or SSDI benefits and want to work?
  • Wondering how returning to work would affect your Social Security benefits?
  • Working part-time and thinking about transition to full-time work?

We can help you understand your options and support your decisions about returning to work.

Each WIPA program has Community Work Incentive Coordinators who:

  • Provide in-depth counseling about your benefits and the effect of work on those benefits.
  • Conduct outreach efforts to beneficiaries of SSI and SSDI.
  • Understand Social Security Disability benefits programs as well as other federal, state, and local programs for which you might be eligible.
  • Provide healthcare planning and counseling.

If you would like general information about how work might affect your benefits, you can call the Ticket to Work Help Line at 1-866-968-7842 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. If you use TTY services for people with hearing impairments, use 1-866-833-2967. If you are working or have a job offer, the Help Line can refer you directly for Work Incentives Planning and Assistance services.
