Medical Emergencies

Always call 911 first, then the University Police Department at (406) 657-2147, when needing assistance for a medical emergency. In the event of a medical emergency on campus, the Billings Fire Department (BFD) and American Medical Response (AMR) will be dispatched to the scene of the crisis. In circumstances where a threat or hazard may be present, University Police or Billings Police officers may also respond.

All university employees are encouraged to obtain First Aid and CPR certification every two years. First Aid & CPR classes are readily available throughout the community and may also be offered by the university. Montana has Good Samaritan protections for individuals providing first aid assistance in good faith.

University Police officers are trained in First Aid and CPR.
