The EdReady Initial Math Placement is available to incoming new and transfer students without another math placement measure.

The EdReady Practice Levels are also available to current students with a math placement measure.

EdReady Practice Levels can be used at any point of the year, to prep for any of the classes listed above.

EdReady Initial Math Placement - For students eligible to take the Initial Math Placement assessment, please plan to complete your requirements prior to your scheduled Registration session or appointment. Study Paths available at the completion of the Initial Math Placement are accessible during the following timeframes:

  • Summer & Fall students: February through 1st day of Fall semester
  • Spring Students: October through 1st day of Spring semester
Students typically spend around an hour on the Initial Math Placement, but don’t worry if it takes you a little more or less time than that. After the Initial Math Placement generates a study path for you, we recommend you set aside 2 different times each week to spend an hour or so in the program. Consistently working on your study path helps you reach your goal, whether that is placing up a level by achieving your target score, or keeping your math knowledge fresh before your math class starts.
Students without a math placement measure who complete their Initial Math Placement should plan to continue in their EdReady Study Paths. The EdReady Study Paths provide students with the opportunity to continue learning and reviewing their math skills prior to their first math class at MSU Billings or City College. Students who successfully complete their Study Path may be eligible to improve their math placement by two levels. Students should review their Initial Math Placement score and Study Path goals with their advisor.

EdReady Initial Math Placement - Eligible students will receive an email with directions from MSU Billings. If you have questions about your eligibility for the Initial Math Placement please send an email to EdReady .

For continuing MSU Billings students, in order to register you for EdReady Practice Levels, we need to collect a little information about you.  Please email EdReady to request that an EdReady account be setup. In your email please be sure to include your first and last name, last 4 digits of your ID or SSN and in the subject "Request EdReady account".

EdReady requests may take up to 5 business days for the team to process. Once your request has been processed, you will receive an email from support@montanadigitalacademy.org with your account username and password.

Note: Please check your All Mail, Spam and other Junk folders in addition to your Inbox for the support@montanadigitalacademy.org email. After 5 business days, if you have not received an email with your account information, please send an email to edready@montana.edu.

When you complete your initial-math-placement through EdReady - it will give you the score and give you a link to our MSU Billings EdReady math placement webpage.  Be sure to right down your initial score.  If you need to go back at a later date please go to

https://www.msubillings.edu/edready/edready-initial-math-placement-score.htm

If you do the math study plan - you will see on the webpage above, the scores needed to move up one or two levels.
