Expanding and diversifying the nursing workforce in rural Montana

The Rural Eastern Montana Nursing Expansion Program or REMNEP is designed to improve Eastern Montana's healthcare system through diversifying the pipeline of the nursing field through training people from historically marginalized and underrepresented populations.

REMNEP will increase nursing student enrollment through recruiting high school graduates, unemployed people, as well as upskilling the current healthcare workforce.

What is the Rural Eastern Montana Nursing Expansion Program or REMNEP?

The Rural Eastern Montana Nursing Expansion Program or REMNEP is a grant funded program designed to meet the needs of the Eastern Montana healthcare workforce.

REMNEP is designed to help prospective students enroll into a Montana nursing program. Veterans will receive a priority of service upon applying to the program.

Prospective students enrolled into REMNEP are offered extra support to help them apply and enroll into nursing school. Once enrolled, REMENP students are offered on-going support and services to complete their degrees.

The Rural Eastern Montana Nursing Expansion Program Brochure can provide additional information.

The Rural Eastern Montana Nursing Expansion Program is funded by a Department of Labor, H-1B Nursing Expansion grant (23A60HG000005-01-00). The program runs from June 1, 2023 – June 30, 2028.
