Dear Billings Business Leaders and Community Members:

President Cruzado, our consultants from Greenwood/Asher & Associates, and I believe that an important key to our successful search is listening, clarifying, and understanding the expectations of all stakeholders.

On November 3, 2017, President Cruzado, Betty Asher who is our search consultant, and I will hold a series of meetings and listening sessions on the campus of City College in the Health Sciences Building and we will be available to provide the campus community with a conversation discussing the MSUB Chancellor’s search.   In addition, the full membership of the Search Committee will be invited to sit in on each of the meetings.

We are interested in learning your views about the challenges and opportunities at MSU Billings and the characteristics we should be seeking in a new Chancellor.  Your input will be used to develop the position specifications document that is used by the consultants with prospects, to design interview questions, and to assist our consultants in learning more about MSU Billings.

The following questions may be posed to the groups and individuals.

  1. What do you think the new Chancellor must accomplish in the next three to five years?
  2. What are the most significant opportunities and challenges the next Chancellor must address within the first two years?
  3. What professional experiences must the next Chancellor have to be a good match with the needs of the University at this time?
  4. What personal characteristics do you think the new Chancellor needs to have?
  5. What are our points of pride?
