Dr. Simone Schweber, Goodman Professor of Education and Jewish Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison

Sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences and  Dean Dr. Tasneem Khaleel, guest lecturer Dr. Simone Schweber will present a community talk on Thursday, March 20, in the MSUB Library Lecture Hall 148, beginning at 6 p.m.

Her lecture will focus on the ways in which the Holocaust has been deployed in political discourse and the complex ways popular understandings transfer into American classrooms.

Dr. Simone Schweber is the Goodman Professor of Education and Jewish Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her work has mostly focused on teaching and learning about the Holocaust and genocide, but in the last two years, she has launched a research project that examines teachers’ lives in schools after their right to effectively collectively bargain was eviscerated. She is the author of two books about Holocaust education, numerous articles on the topic, and she has spoken in Germany, Israel and England.
