University Chorus concert will be held on April 11, Percussion Ensemble concert will be held April 16; both begin at 7:30 p.m., in Cisel Recital Hall

 

MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Montana State University’s music department presents two spring concerts in April.

 

The 40-voice university chorus presents its spring concert on April 11 in Cisel Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. Under the direction of Doug Nagel, and accompanied by pianist Kathy Honaker, the group will perform selections including She Walks in Beauty, Sure on This Shining Night, Were You There and High Barbary, among many others.

 

The percussion ensemble will hold its spring concert on April 16 in Cisel Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. The concert, conducted by Luke Kestner, will feature a variety of pieces ranging from ragtime to contemporary. Senior Ethan Gray will perform N.J. Zivkovic’s Uneven Souls, a tour de force Marimba Concerto.  The concerto features a voice choir and accompaniment provided by the Billings Symphony Percussion Section.

 

Admission to each concert is $5 for adults and $3 for senior citizens. MSU Billings students, faculty and staff with university ID are admitted free.
