MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Anyone who has had a break in their education careers and are now returning to college can get a boost with a special free workshop scheduled this month at Montana State University Billings.

Student Opportunity Services/TRIO at MSU Billings is sponsoring a “Return to Learn” seminar on Aug. 28-29 at the MSU Billings main campus. The free program is available to any student, but especially for students who have been out of school for a while and who are interested in either entering or returning to college. Presentations and activities focus on making the transition to college pleasant, meaningful and less stressful, said Monica Powers, director of SOS/TRIO.

Prospective students have the opportunity to learn about financial aid, get tips on effective study skills and find out about college resources and career options. “Return to Learn,” open to everyone, will be especially beneficial to adult learners, transfer students, and students with disabilities.

“Return to Learn” will be held in the College of Education building, room 427, from 8 a.m to 4 p.m. on Aug. 28 and Aug. 29. Although pre-registration is not required, it is appreciated.

For more information contact the MSU Billings SOS/TRIO office at 657-2162. SOS/TRiO is funded through the U.S. Department of Education and serves about 250 students a year through mentorships, tutoring and support at MSU Billings.
