MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Looking to put some spring sunshine into your midweek schedule? The Montana State University Billings Jazz Ensemble will perform a concert in the Cisel Recital Hall on the MSU Billings campus on Wednesday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m.

 

The concert, which will feature a variety of swing  and contemporary jazz numbers, is open to the public. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for senior citizens and students.

 

The concert will feature traditional swing music such as “Cute” by Neal Hefti and “Birdland” by Joe Zawinul.  They will also perform contemporary jazz selections such as “Chirimbolo” by Victor Lopez and “Fish ‘n Grits” by Jeff Jarvis. 

 

The members of the Jazz Ensemble are:

  • Stephanie Bidwell, tenor sax, a music education major from Volborg.
  • Elliot Cross, bass, a music education major from Glendive.
  • J.T. Dell, percussion set and vibraphone, a music major from Billings.
  • Ron Dorado, guitar, a music education major from Los Angeles, Calif.
  • Tyler Harris, trumpet, a music education major from Froid.
  • Chad McKinsey percussion set and vibraphone, a music education major from Ballantine.
  • Lane Meiers, piano, a general studies major from Glendive.
  • Jenay Murphy, baritone sax, a music education major from Glendive.
  • Tyson Reiter, alto sax, a music education and saxophone performance major from Worden.
  • Eli Weaver, percussion set, an accounting major from Laurel.
  • Simon Wiesner, guitar, a general studies major from Laurel.
