Crotteau Earns Pair of All-Region First Team Honors
BILLINGS, Mont. – The post season accolades for Montana State Billings senior outside hitter, Devon Crotteau, continue to build with Tuesday’s selections to the Daktronics All-West Region first team and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-West Region team.
“I’m certainly excited and extremely happy for Devon,” said head volleyball coach, Steve Smith. “I think she deserves these awards after the type of season and career she has had here at MSUB. Not only was Devon a great player, but she was a great teammate and leader for the younger players this season.”
Crotteau joined Callie Scott of Alaska Anchorage as the only GNAC members on the Daktronics first team and earned the AVCA honors with Scott and Brandie Vea of Central Washington. This was the first time Crotteau had earned honors for either organization.
A native of Casper, WY, Crotteau ranked fifth in the nation in kills this season (4.47). She also led the Great Northwest Athletic Confernce in kills and points and was in the top ten for service aces. She became the fifth player in MSUB history to record 1,000 kills for her career and was the only player to ever record three-straight seasons with 400 kills and 300 digs. For her career, Crotteau finished with 1,351 kills, which ranks third in the MSUB record books, 3,436 attemps, 1,114 digs and 118 service aces.
Crotteau was also named to the GNAC All-Conference first team for the second consecutive year and earned her second selection to the Academic All-GNAC team. Her selection to the Daktronics All-West Region team qualifies her for selection to the All-America team, which will be announced Dec. 4.
