Montana State University Billings hires new Marketing and Communications Director

MSU BILLINGS NEWS — Montana State University Billings is pleased to announce the hiring of Maureen Brakke as Director for University Marketing and Communications. She will assume her new role on September 3.
Brakke was most recently marketing manager with the University of Utah Manufacturing Extension Partnership Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she built the marketing department from inception.
“Maureen brings a wealth of higher education experience to Montana State University Billings,” says Chancellor Dan Edelman. “Her enthusiasm and energy will be extremely beneficial as we move forward, charting new paths as a university.”
Brakke holds a master’s degree in public administration from DePaul University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Arizona State University. Previous positions include strategic marketing and communications, brand management, and financial aid outreach within the Utah System of Higher Education.
In her spare time, Brakke enjoys traveling, skiing, hiking, cooking, yoga, and spending time with her husband Jason and daughter Seraphina.
Members of the search committee for the Director of University Marketing and Communications include Darrell Ehrlick, Jody Stahl, Bill Kennedy, and Provost Melinda Arnold as chair. The search committee reviewed and evaluated 13 applicants which was narrowed to two finalists.
