MSU Billings announces Welcome Week events

MSU BILLINGS NEWS — Montana State University Billings is ready to welcome students to campus. The annual Welcome Week celebration will run from Sept. 1 to Sept. 7 and includes a variety of activities to welcome ‘Jackets back to MSU Billings.
The week kicks off when the residence halls open on Sept. 1 at 9 a.m. The first ever MSUB Target Run will be from 2-5 p.m. at the West End Target and students and families are welcome to come to a free meal on the McMullen Lawn at 5 p.m. The day will conclude with grocery bingo in the Glacier Room at 7 p.m.
On Monday, Sept. 2 students will have the opportunity to explore both Billings and the MSU Billings campus by going bowling, hiking or to the zoo and finding their classes with help from faculty and staff. Students can pick up their books ordered through the Campus Store in the Glacier Room starting at 5 p.m. and can grab a slice of free pizza while waiting!
Tuesday, Sept. 3 will serve as the Yellowjacket Orientation. This day full of programs will kick off the Yellowjacket experience for new students. Band & BBQ will feature a free barbeque meal with live music by the Day Old Donuts band starting at 5 p.m.
The fall semester officially kicks off on Wednesday, Sept. 4. First-day-of-class photos will be available for students around campus starting at 8 a.m. Speed friending, a spirit dinner and capture the flag will round out the first day and will give a preview of the exciting semester to come.
Thursday, Sept. 5 features a 9-square game on the McMullen Lawn, a steak dining event in Rimrock Café and the Price is Right in Petro Theatre. Over $2,000 worth of prizes will be up for grabs during the live game.
Students will have another opportunity to explore Billings’ sights on Friday, Sept. 5 at Night at the Mustangs. They can walk down to Dehler Park with peers at 5:30 p.m. and get a free ticket with student ID to watch the game and cheer the Mustangs to a win!
Welcome Week concludes on Sept. 7 with the ‘Res’ Hall Rager. This resident-exclusive event will give students a chance to mix and mingle in Petro Hall starting at 8 p.m.
