MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — The Montana State University Billings Department of Art is now accepting entries for their 2018 Juried Student Exhibition. Students’ artwork will be showcased at the Northcutt Steele Gallery on the university campus.
Submissions will be accepted online only, and the deadline is March 16 at 4:30 p.m.
The annual exhibition is a great opportunity for MSUB students to present their artwork as well as gain experience in preparing their work for a gallery display. This event will also allow students to experience the process of a juried exhibition.
The online submission form and full instructions are available at https://msubillings.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3qHztmaZX1mZsUd.
All currently enrolled part-time or full-time MSUB or City College students may enter up to three artworks for consideration for inclusion in the exhibition. Artworks selected for the exhibition will also be considered for cash awards selected by the exhibition’s guest juror.
This year’s juror, Maggy Rozycki Hiltner, is an artist from Red Lodge, MT. Hiltner has participated in numerous solo and selected art exhibitions across the United States and internationally, including: Lawrence Arts Center, Alice C. Sabatini Art Gallery, Stapleton Gallery, and Sherry Leedy Contemporary Art. She focuses on creating beautiful works of art through hand-stitched embroidery. She has been an Artist-In-Residence at the Yellowstone Art Museum and received the Montana Arts Council Artist's Innovation Award in 2015. Her work has been included in numerous national and international exhibitions in museums and galleries, and has been published in the US and abroad.
The juried student exhibition will open at Northcutt Steele Gallery on April 5 and runs through May 3. A catered reception and awards ceremony for the student artists will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., April 19. This reception is free and open to the public.
