MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — MSU Billings recently unveiled the Yellowjacket Excellence Program, a scholarship program designed to make a college education more affordable for Montana students.

Based on a student’s application for admission, MSUB will automatically award scholarships to Montana high school seniors planning to attend MSU Billings fall semester 2018. Students with a 3.00 GPA or higher will be eligible for the Montana Excellence Scholarship. Students with a 2.75 GPA or higher and currently attending high schools in central and eastern Montana may also qualify for the Eastern or Central Montana Yellowjacket Scholarship. High school students are encouraged to apply for admission to MSUB early for their best chance of receiving a scholarship through the Yellowjacket Excellence Program.

Director of New Student Services, Tammi Watson said this program was developed with Montana students and families in mind. “This program aligns with our commitment to Access and Excellence,” she said. “We wanted to develop a program to show support for our Montana students and streamline our scholarship process at the same time. We are very excited to welcome our fall 2018 freshmen class!”

The Yellowstone Excellence Program serves students applying to City College or the University campus.

Students are encouraged to complete the general MSU Billings scholarship application to qualify for additional scholarships through the MSU Billings Foundation. Review for new freshmen begins December 1.
