MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES – He’s performed on Comedy Central, MTV, VH1 the CW's Penn & Teller: Fool Us and is a creative producer on TRUtv’s hit magic series, “The Carbonaro Effect.” Most recently, he was a finalist on season 10 of NBC's “America’s Got Talent.”

On Tuesday, the celebrated conjurer and “Stand Up Magician” Derek Hughes will be performing at Petro Theater.

While Hughes’ comedic repertoire can be racy this show will be Junior Jackets approved, so don’t be afraid to bring your kids for what will be a family fun event.

The magician is being brought to Petro by the Montana State University Student Activities Board, who saw him perform at the National Association Campus Activities Conference last November in Spokane, Washington.

SAB Recruitment Chair Kristen Wederski was at the conference and knew Hughes would be a hit at MSUB.

“The twist of comedian and magician is going to make for a great show!” Wederski said.

SAB Chair Shiloh Skillen Robinson is thrilled to see someone who wowed television audiences with his mix of eclectic and snazzy humor and sleight of hand.

“It is really exciting to have a performer that did so well on America’s Got Talent perform live at MSUB,” she said.

Hughes performs regularly at the Magic Castle in Hollywood California, where he was recently nominated for Parlour Magician of the Year.
