Writers and Artists!
If
you want to get published, submit to The Rook!
General Guidelines
- All current and former students of MSU-Billings are encouraged to submit!
- YOU MUST INCLUDE a typed cover letter containing your name, address, phone number, email address, a brief biography of yourself, a list of the titles of the pieces submitted and if you choose, an explanation of your piece(s).
- Include a self-addressed stamped envelope.
- PAPERCLIP THE PIECES TOGETHER (no staples, please).
- Submit as many pieces as you wish. However, no more than four (4) submissions per student will be printed.
Additional guidelines for WRITERS:
- Poems, short stories, creative non-fiction, and one-act plays will be considered for possible publication.
- Make certain that each piece submitted has the title prominently displayed and that the piece is typed using single-spacing and a standard font like Times New Roman or Arial.
Additional guidelines for ARTISTS:
- All media must be submitted by photograph. Any size photo is acceptable.
- Print only the title of the piece on the back of each photo.
- If accepted, you will be required to provide The Rook with the original piece of artwork for layout purposes.
- Submissions in both color and black and white are acceptible. However, there is a possibility that we will be printing all artwork using ONLY black and white.
