From a PC
Format to a Macintosh Format
If you are running the same program on both machines, more than likely
you will be able to bring the file(s) straight across. You must, however, save the
file to a PC formatted disk for the transfer. Your PC won't read Macintosh
formatted disks, but the Mac will read either PC or Mac disks. So, save your file
to your PC disk and then put the disk into the Macintosh. Open the file from within
the program on the PC.
If you are not running the same program on both machines, there may be
an extra step. Open the file on the PC and save it as an RTF file to the PC
disk. (You do not need to include the extension - just choose the Rich Text Format
file type from the list in the Save dialog box. Then you can put the disk into
the Mac and open the file from within the program you will use it with.
Don't over look the e-mail method. If you have e-mail capability
on both machines you can use the highlight, cut, and paste method to e-mail the text to
yourself. Or if you are running the same program on both machines, you can attach
files to an e-mail message and then open them on the other machine.
