3 hour Workshop Descriptions:
1 hour presentation and 2 hours Q&A / Practice

Course Material Migration
Come learn the process, in which materials are moved out of eCollege and into Desire2Learn!  The first concentration of the Course Material Migration workshop will be moving materials out of eCollege and into a holding tank.  The second concentration of this workshop is how to move content out of those eCollege materials.

Discussion
The Discussion workshop concentrates on creating and organizing Threaded Discussions in Desire2Learn.  This workshop will also cover different things that are possible with discussions and how to customize your discussions.

Dropbox
The Dropbox workshop is all about creating dropboxes in Desire2Learn and all the associated options.

Quizzes
The Quizzes workshop deals with making quizzes in Desire2Learn.  The workshop will cover how to make quizzes, question pools, and how to get started with a question library.

Customizing “Course Home” Pages
The Course Home page is where students start once they enter into a course.  This workshop will demonstrate how this page may be customized.  Topics that will be covered consist of: Widgets (both system and custom) and page layout (two columns, three columns, something else…).

Creating Next Generation Content
This session is only 1 to 2 hours, providing instruction in and explanation of the concepts, parameters and rubrics for building engaging courses based on sound cybergogy integrating digital resources in a certified quality assurance process.   This must be completed prior to attending any other course building sessions (does not include Course Material Migration).

Sack Lunch
1 hour Seminars

Converting Microsoft Office Documents
Microsoft Office is most widely used office suite of programs used in the World today.  That being said, Microsoft Office is expensive and not everyone has access to it.  This seminar concentrates on converting Microsoft Office into more widely available formats.  For example, how-to convert a Word document into an HTML file.  Another example, how-to convert a PowerPoint presentation into Jpegs or a PDF file.

Adobe Dreamweaver
This seminar is a brief introduction to one of the most popular programs used to make web pages.  This seminar will demonstrate how to use this powerful program to make materials for your online course.

File Management
The File Management seminar’s aim is to provide different strategies on how to organize file in a Desire2Learn course in order to make life, at least, a little easier.

TBD
These sessions will be announced at a later date.  These offerings may be a repeat of any of the previous seminars or new topics such as, Quality Matters and Learning Objects.

Open Lab Sessions
The purpose of an Open Lab Session is provide lab time to come apply some of the concepts from the Workshops and Seminars.  It’s also a time to come up to COE 328 for additional help with setting up your online course.

**The staff in E-Learning Operations is also available to provide assistance on an appointment basis.**
