Who is eligible?
To receive assistance from SOS/TRiO, students must
first be enrolled at MSUB.
In order to qualify for SOS/TRiO, a participant must
meet one of the following three criteria:
- Low-income (according to Federal Government
guidlines based on taxable income).
- First generation college students (meaning that
neither parent has a bachelors degree).
- Documented physical or learning disability.
To be accepted into SOS/TRiO students must fill out
an application and since space is limited in
SOS/TRiO (250 participants) please get your applications in as soon as possible.
Any student may be accepted into SOS/TRiO, regardless of
age or year in school.
Once the application is completed and accepted, the
eligible student will be asked to have an intake
interview. Each eligible student must provide
proof of income or disability at this time. Also,
each eligible student must bring along their U-Card.
After the interview, the student will be assigned a
mentor and can begin to utilize any of the services
SOS/TRiO provides.
