Employment Supports and Work Incentives

Many individuals with disabilities want to work. It is important for disability beneficiaries to understand that they can still receive benefits while they test their ability to work. SSDI or SSI beneficiaries who are working or interested in working should contact the Employment Works project about  employment support provisions and learn how these provisions can affect their benefits.

Continuation of Medicare Coverage

How does it help you?

Most individuals with disabilities who work will continue to receive at least 93 consecutive months of hospital and supplementary medical insurance under Medicare, after the nine month trial work period. You do not pay a premium for hospital insurance. Although cash benefits may cease due to work, you have the assurance of continued health insurance.
