Renewing Books Online
You can renew items online when:
You have no overdue items.
You have no outstanding fines.
Your library card is current.
The items you want to renew are NOT videos, DVDs, journals, or Interlibrary Loan items.
Q. How do I renew my library items online?
A. Go to the MSU-Billings Library home page, and click on "Library Catalog" in the bar at the top of the page.
On the catalog page, click on My Account, and then choose Renew My Materials.
For MSU-Billings students, faculty, and staff: On the resulting login page, User ID is your Banner ID number (without the dash), and PIN is the last 4 digits of your SSN.

For courtesy borrowers of MSU-Billings Library: On the resulting login page, User ID is the 14-digit barcode number on the front of your library card, and PIN is what you requested it to be on the borrower's application form you filled out when requesting a library card. (If your card is more than 1 year old, or you have forgotten your PIN, please contact Jan Fandrich at 657-1665 or jfandrich@msubillings.edu to set up your PIN. You will be asked for your barcode number and other identification.)
Click on List Charged Items. Follow the instructions on the page and watch your items renew themselves!***
***(Does not include Interlibrary Loan books, videos, DVDs, journals, or Reserves.)

(If the system does not log you in, please contact the Library and we will help get your ID and PIN set up. Contact Jan Fandrich at 657-1665 (jfandrich@msubillings.edu), Linda Van Sky at 657-1687 (lvansky@msubillings.edu), or Jane Howell at 657-2320 (jlhowell@msubillings.edu).
Q. Can I renew videos online?
A. Videos, DVDs, and periodicals (journals) have short check-out periods and will not renew online.
Q. When should I renew my library items online?
A. Library items must be renewed before they become overdue, or the system will refuse renewals.
Q. I was able to renew my books online before, but this time I am getting an error message. Whats up with that?
A. There is a limit to how many times items can be renewed. If you are a student or a courtesy borrower, you may renew books, government documents, and annual reports 2 times. (Faculty may renew more than twice.) Videos, DVDs, Reserve materials, and periodicals (journals) do not renew online.
Q. Can I renew my Interlibrary Loan books online?
A. You can request renewal of Interlibrary Loan items by contacting Cheryl Hoover at 657-1666.
