BraNanza at MSU Billings Library March 23-April
3, 2009
“Bra-Nanza”
was both a charitable event and a competition organized by
Circle
K to help raise awareness of breast cancer issues. Those who registered helped raise money for Relay for Life and
also had the chance to win a prize at an
open-to-the-public
reception on Thursday, March 26 in the
MSU Billings Student Union Building.
According to the
American Cancer Society, about
1.3 million women will be diagnosed with breast cancer annually worldwide
and about 465,000 will die from the disease. Breast cancer death rates have
been dropping steadily since 1990, according to the society, because of
earlier detection and better treatments. Still, statistics show about 40,000
breast cancer deaths each year.
