DESCRIPTION:     The Training Coordinator for the “Energy for Tomorrow” – Energy Workforce Training Center Grant will provide training and logistical coordination for workforce training courses, learning initiatives, and training recommendations in specific disciplines.

 Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide coordinated logistical and development support for implementation of workforce training courses and learning initiatives between MSU Billings College of Technology, Dawson Community College and industry partners.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to assist in the development of guiding principles and strategic direction for internal and external education that meets professional, business and client service needs.
  • Assist with the marketing and promotion of workforce training courses.
  • Monitor and evaluate training programs to assure courses are of high quality and in compliance with national and statewide workforce training standards, guidelines and regulations.
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics of the Mobile Training Equipment for the Energy for Tomorrow grant.
  • Recruit, supervise and evaluate part-time faculty/trainers in short term workforce training programs. 
  • Coordinate registration, record keeping, reporting, and logistics for short-term training courses.
  • Assist the Project Manager with identifying, developing relationships, and recruiting energy/bio-product industry partners.
  • Assist the project management team in the research of grant proposals for additional funding.  Sources including grants, appropriations, and private donations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

Ø  Associate’s degree (related field preferred) with three years current, relevant experience or combination of education and experience.

Ø  Knowledge and familiarity with training and educational environments.

Ø  Experience in coordinating and evaluating workforce training programs.

Ø  Strong ability to communicate both oral and written.

Ø  Knowledge and familiarity of energy and bio-product industry.

 

PREFERRED:

Ø  Bachelor’s degree with three years relevant experience in coordinating training programs.

Ø  Recent energy industry and bio-product industry experience.

Ø  Teaching experience and curricular design experience.

Ø  Demonstrated project management skills and experience.

Ø  Existing relationships and partnerships with Montana/Regional energy industries, associations, labor, and/or State Department of Labor and Industry Apprenticeship Programs.

Ø  Experience in delivery of mobile training programs.

Ø  Experience with Career Clusters and Industry Pathways.
