Montana State University Billings is the third largest University in Montana and is located in Montana’s largest city.  The Senior campus, College of Technology and Downtown campus together are home to approximately 5,000 students.  The University has six colleges, which offer a wide variety of degree programs to its students.  Montana State University Billings employs approximately 500 employees, who together work hard to create an outstanding University.

 

E-Learning Department:  The E-Learning Hub provides leadership and support to faculty, students and staff and ensures adherence to the highest standards of quality in all MSU B E-Learning initiatives and activities.

 

DESCRIPTIONThe primary role of the E-Learning Systems Administrator is to coordinate and provide technical support for the E-Learning delivery platform, assessment systems and portfolio system.  It is an expectation to respond to faculty support request within 48-hours of inquiry. 

 

This position will maintain and update E-Learning courses, course and user creation, provide site backup, maintain E-Learning Reports, provide system and user support to faculty evaluation process, provide excellent customer service and support and continue efforts for the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Assessment process.

 

This role will communicate with faculty and staff regarding Course Management System (CMS) status, upgrades and issues, provide CMS related content, information and training to faculty and staff on an ongoing basis.  Determine and coordinate the technical training to assist faculty in creating and maintaining courses with in CMS.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Bachelor’s degree required.

·        Excellent facilitation, collaboration, verbal and written communication skills.

·        A record of creative problem solving in professional information technology settings.

·        Broad knowledge of educational technology and E-Learning.

 

Two to four years experience in the following:

·        Previous working experience and knowledge of CMS and/or instructional design.

·        Strong knowledge of PC operations and personal software applications

Programs to include but not limited to:

o       Microsoft Office Suite

o       Expression Web or similar program

o       Windows Movie Maker or similar program.

·        Previous problem solving experience within an IT environment.
