Montana State University Billings is a state supported university in Montana’s largest city. DESCRIPTION: The Department of Special Education, Counseling, Reading and Early Childhood seeks a dynamic individual who is enthusiastic about teaching and is committed to working collaboratively with faculty colleagues. The successful candidate must be prepared to teach innovatively in the classroom and online, and will be expected to:
a) Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in special education;
b) Teach on campus and online courses;
c) Supervise student practica;
d) Advise students;
e) Maintain a record of scholarship and service;
f) Serve on University and College committees and attend meetings;
g) Provide service to the College and community through committee work, student recruitment and retention efforts, task force membership, accreditation activities, continuous improvement activities (CQI) and general community service.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø Terminal degree in special education or related field.
Ø Experience in learning disabilities and other areas of special education.
Ø Record of scholarly activity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø Teaching experience in higher education.
Ø Teaching experience in public schools in special and/or general education.
Ø Online teaching experience.
Ø Supervision of practicum students.
Ø Grant writing.
