RE:            Nominations for 2007 Staff Recognition Awards

Montana State University Billings has a long and proud history of community service, civic engagement and achievement by a staff that is second to none in the Montana University System. You now have the opportunity to recognize a member of our staff for demonstrating outstanding achievement in the performance of service to the university and to the community in the past year.  

The 2007 Staff Recognition Awards will be given Wednesday, April 11, 2007 on the MSU-Billings campus. The program is in its 23^rd year of honoring outstanding service by our exceptional staff.

Nominations for awards will be accepted through March 5, 2007. Students, staff, faculty and anyone in the community are encouraged to nominate a member of the staff for these prestigious awards. Self-nominations are also encouraged. All campus employees — with the exception of faculty, those holding academic rank, deans, vice chancellors and the chancellor — are eligible for nomination. Letters of nomination, as well as a maximum of three letters of support, describing the candidate’s contributions are encouraged for the following categories:

Ø      Support staff recognition

Ø      Administrative staff recognition

Ø      Community service recognition

A review committee of six MSU-Billings employees will evaluate each nomination. Significant achievements, accomplishments, activities and contributions should be identified. The review committee will match each candidate with the appropriate category based on the information that is received and candidates will be evaluated to specific criteria as listed on nomination forms. Forms are available at the Human Resources Office in McMullen Hall, Room 310, or are available online at www.msubillings.edu/humres.

Nominations and three letters of support must be received by the Human Resources Office no later than 5 p.m. March 5, 2007. Submit them to STAFF RECOGNITION AWARDS, c/o MSU-Billings Human Resources Office, 1500 University Drive, McMullen 310, Billings, MT  59101.

The “All Staff Appreciation Dinner” is Wednesday, April 11, 2007 from 4:30-6:00 p.m. in the Student Union Building. The awards will be officially presented at that time. We look forward to seeing you there.
