for American Indian Heritage Day !

Everyone is invited to celebrate 2008 Montana American Indian Heritage Day on Friday, September 26th, at Montana State University Billings, east campus. The event allows organizations, teachers, students and the public to come together to celebrate and learn about the unique histories, cultures, and philosophies of American Indian groups. You are invited to join the festivities to share information and resources that promote making healthy and safe choices throughout our lives.

Registration

Registration is open at 8:45 a.m. in the Student Union Building. The opening ceremonies begin at 9:30 followed by a variety of exciting activities and the opening of a vendor exhibit. Learn while you walk by following the colorful sidewalk notes and quotes between venues. Stop by the MSU-B Library to view a spectacular display of American Indian books and artifacts that will inspire you to learn more about America’s first people.

Students in grades 6–8 and 9-12 are encouraged to participate in the Passport Activity that enables them to enter a drawing to win fabulous gift baskets that include technology, MSUB gear, and American Indian cultural items. There are three prizes for grades 6-8 and three prizes for grades 9-12. A completed Passport is all you need for a chance to win. Elders are invited to be our honored guests and to grace our day with their participation. A rest station exclusively for elders will be provided.body
