for American Indian Heritage Day

Everyone is invited to celebrate 2008 Montana American
Indian Heritage Day on Friday, September 26th, at Montana
State University Billings, east campus. The event
allows organizations, teachers, students and the public to
come together to celebrate and learn about the unique
histories, cultures, and philosophies of American Indian
groups. You are invited to join the festivities to share information
and resources that promote making healthy
and safe choices throughout our lives.
Registration
Registration is open at 8:45 a.m. in the Student Union
Building. The opening ceremonies begin at 9:30 followed
by a variety of exciting activities and the opening of a
vendor exhibit. Learn while you walk by following the
colorful sidewalk notes and quotes between venues.
Stop by the MSU-B Library to view a spectacular display
of American Indian books and artifacts that will inspire
you to learn more about America’s first people.
Students in grades 6–8 and 9-12 are encouraged to participate
in the Passport Activity that enables them to
enter a drawing to win fabulous gift baskets that include
technology, MSUB gear, and American Indian cultural
items. There are three prizes for grades 6-8 and three
prizes for grades 9-12. A completed Passport is all you
need for a chance to win.
Elders are invited to be our honored guests and to grace
our day with their participation. A rest station exclusively
for elders will be provided.body
Bus Loading Zone and Parking
Buses unload at the loading zones in front of Petro Hall from the Rimrock parking
lot entrance. Buses should exit out the main Rimrock parking entrance and
park across the street in the Facility Services lot.
General Public Parking
Please park in the MSUB parking garage accessible from Poly Drive.
