American Indian Heritage Day
September 25, 2009
Join Us!
The activities will begin at 9:00 am with a traditional flag song followed by more than 15 different exciting venues about American Indian culture. Listen to American Indian drumming and singing, or watch the intricate footwork of dancers on the lawn as you stroll between venues on the beautiful campus lawns. Be prepared to encounter American Indian artists demonstrating their talents along the routes to various venues. Stop by the MSUB Library to view a spectacular display of American Indian books and artifacts that will inspire you to learn more about America’s first people.
K-12 Students are encouraged to participate in the MSUB coloring contest and to take advantage of a photo booth to commemorate their day on campus. Elders are invited to be our honored guests and to grace our day with their participation. A rest station exclusively for elders will be provided near the drummers and dancers comfortably located in a shady area hosted by MSUB college students.
