ARE supports research and scholarly activities that relate to the applicant's non-teaching portfolio needs for promotion and/or tenure advancement. These funds may support undergraduate research assistant employment, materials, travel to research locations, etc. This competition is open to all faculty and staff on Letters of Appointment with a research/scholarly-activity expectation.

Arts & Humanities Competition

This competition will provide faculty in the arts in sciences funds to stimulate new research and creative activity as well as support faculty in becoming competitive in securing external funding and scholarship. Applicants may request up to $5,000 for the 12-month award period from November to October.

These funds will provide early-career faculty additional time and resources to advance their research or scholarly agenda, building their capacity to successfully achieve tenure and promotion.  Applicants may request up to $7,000, renewable annually for up to three years. June 14, 2019

Course Development This grant seeks to move existing programs and certificates to online delivery. We welcome proposals from individual faculty, teams and/or departments to design high-quality online courses that allow a student to complete a degree or certificate entirely online.

This one-time opportunity will support interdisciplinary partnerships to develop and implement program innovations. The Provost’s office will fund up to five teams at $6,000/team. The expected outcome of this grant is significant curricular revision impacting more than one discipline. September 30, 2019
