Sign up for one of our six Yellowjacket Registration Days where we will prepare you to navigate the college processes like course registration and paying for college. Want to stay the night in Petro Hall too? Let us know you’re interested in the overnight option on your registration form, we’ll have dinner and entertainment that evening.

In your Yellowjacket Registration Day sign up, you will also register for an Accuplacer test to ensure appropriate class placement in writing, mathematics, and reading. See FAQs below for more information. 

Before class registration be sure there are no holds on your account i.e. turning in official transcripts and applying for housing (or completing a housing exemption form).

Attend one of six Yellowjacket Registration Days. The first four options include an overnight option in our residence halls with activities.

The form includes dates for Accuplacer testing. If you have not completed a math or writing course at another institution, you will need to complete the Accuplacer Placement test prior to registration. You may select an Accuplacer date if needed while signing up for a Registration Day. Prior to attending a registration session, please be sure that we have received all of your college transcripts and that a transcript evaluation has been completed.

These sessions are offered at City College through Jacket Student Central. Students will learn how to use the different tools for registration, view the course requirements for their degree, map out their plan of study and register for classes.

If you have not completed a math or writing course at another institution, you will need to complete the Accuplacer Placement test prior to registration. You may select an Accuplacer date if needed while signing up for a Registration Day. Prior to attending a registration session, please be sure that we have received all of your college transcripts and that a transcript evaluation has been completed.

This day is designed to prepare you to navigate the college processes like course registration and paying for college. And of course, you’ll meet other students and get to know our campus community better! Want to stay the night in Petro Hall too? Let us know you’re interested in the overnight option on your registration form, we’ll have dinner and entertainment that evening.

It is required for all first-time freshman students under the age of 21. For transfer and adult learners it is highly recommended but we do accommodate individual and group advising sessions for convenience.

If you live in a state that does not neighbor Montana, you are not required to but are strongly encouraged to attend if possible.

We do not require anyone to stay on campus the night before but we highly recommend it! There will be dinner, entertainment, and opportunities to connect with other students.
We welcome the supporters of our Yellowjackets on campus and find it beneficial to attend orientation with students. During Yellowjacket Registration Day, parents and supporters have the opportunity to attend workshops about academics, registration, services on campus, and financial aid. There is a $20 program fee per parent or guest, including meals. Guests may stay on campus for an additional rate of $10 per night. Please make arrangements with Housing and Residence Life at (406) 657-2333.

Check-in starts at 9:00 a.m. and the day wraps up by 5:30 p.m.

If you are staying on campus the night before, check-in starts at 5:00 p.m.

All students who have not yet completed writing and math at another post-secondary institution must take the Accuplacer test to help us place students in the appropriate writing, math, and reading courses. You can sign up for an Accuplacer testing in the form you’ll also sign up for Yellowjacket Registration Day. We have the following Accuplacer group sessions scheduled:

If you have previously taken the COMPASS or Accuplacer within the past three years, you will not need to take the Accuplacer. Please contact us to make sure we have your scores on file.

Yes, there is a $20 programming fee and $10 for those who stay overnight on campus. This will not need to be paid on the day of the event as it is rolled into your first semester’s bill.

Orientation will take place the week fall semester begins. At orientation, we welcome all of our new students beginning with a speaker, convocation, and workshops the day before fall semester begins, Tuesday, September 3rd. There will be fun activities, food, and workshops to help make sure you’re all set to start your semester at MSUB. This day follows the first two days of move-in weekend.

Move-in Day for new incoming students is Sunday, September 1st. Watch your email for more details on this weekend and to register for specific events and outings!
