Transfer and Adult Learner Registration and Orientation - City College


Step 1 – Placement Testing (Accuplacer):


Adult Learners that are attending college for the first time will be required to take the  Accuplacer test prior to their individual appointment. Contact Jacket Student Central at (406) 247-3019 to schedule an individual or remote test.


Transfer students who have not taken college level math and/or writing classes will need to take the  Accuplacer  placement test. Contact Jacket Student Central to schedule an individual or remote test. Transcripts from all previous institutions must be received prior to scheduling the individual advising appointment.


Step 2 - Registration:


Adult Learners need to attend one of the registration sessions listed below.  These sessions are offered at City College through Jacket Student Central.  Students will learn how to use the different tools for registration, view the course requirements for their degree, map out their plan of study and register for classes. (Please remember that first-time students must have the accuplacer test completed prior to attending one of the registration sessions).  Call Jacket Student Central at (406) 247-3019 to schedule one of the registration sessions below.  If there are conflicts with these days/times please call (406) 247-3019 to discuss other options:

Transfer Students need to call Jacket Student Central to setup an individual advising appointment to register for fall classes.  Please note that all transfer work from previous colleges must be submitted prior to the appointment and an evaluation completed by an academic advisor.  Call Jacket Student Central at (406) 247-3019 to confirm all necessary documents are in and to schedule and advising appointment.  Appointments can be in person or over the phone.


Step 3 - Orientation:


After registering for classes, the next step is to attend Orientation.  At Orientation, students will meet other students, learn more about services available at both City College and University campuses, and receive important computer training for online courses and on-campus computer access and accessing your electronic student records.

Students sign up for these sessions online by selecting the desired orientation date: (Students must be registered for fall classes PRIOR to attending one of these Orientations).

If you are pursuing your degree completely online, we understand you may not be able to come to campus. To register for classes or arrange an Accuplacer placement test, please contact the Jacket Student Central Advising Center at (406) 247-3019.  Advisors can accommodate students with the type of appointment that fits their needs. Is it possible for me to take my Accuplacer placement test somewhere else?
