What activities, clubs, or jobs are you involved in at MSUB?

In addition to attending classes, I am very involved with my campus community. As a Montana State University Billings Student Body Senator, I work to improve student body involvement in campus events, clubs and organizations. Through ASMSUB, I am a committee member of the budget committee. I am also the Business Manager for the campus newspaper, The Retort, and will be a leader next academic year through Intervarsity Campus Ministries.

Why did you choose MSUB?

I chose MSU Billings because of the personalized teaching approach by the faculty. Employment and leadership experiences offered at MSUB have given me opportunities to build my professional identity. MSUB also offered me opportunity to complete my first year of general education while I was in high school through the University Connections program.

What do you like about MSUB?

Besides learning the practical tools for effective marketing through my classes, I continue to learn about real-world business practices through both my volunteer and employment opportunities on campus. The faculty involvement with students and mentoring by leaders in student organizations continue to help me prepare for my professional life.

What advice would you give to prospective new students at MSUB?

Make the most of the new ideas, experiences, and opportunities MSUB will immerse you in. Have conversations with your classmates about lectures that expand your perspective on the subject. Build relationships with faculty. MSUB professors have vast experiences beyond the campus and care about the success of their students during and after the semester is over. Join a student organization. Making meaningful friendships with successful upperclassmen in your program will help keep you on track to achieve your personal and professional goals at MSUB.
