COT Registration & Orientation for Freshmen, Transfer and Readmit Students

Attend a registration session and an orientation session.

All new students are required to attend a Registration Session and an Orientation Session.
Please note that many College of Technology majors fill quickly and/or are competitive. Please check with a College of Technology advisor for availability.

Registration

Attend a Group Registration Session.

• Take placement tests

• Meet with an academic advisor

• Register for classes

• Receive an update on the next steps in the financial aid process

• meet other students

• Sign up for an Orientation Session

• Please note that the average session is 10-12 students.

Here's how:

• Use the calendar at right to identify the date that works for you. Each session will begin at 8:30 am and conclude by 12:30 pm.

• Complete the registration form and return it.

• A confirmation letter will be sent to you informing you of the date you will attend.

• Guests are welcome to attend the Registration Session. There will be a waiting period while students complete testing and guests may then accompany students to the registration process.

Orientation

You will sign up for an orientation on the day you meet with your advisor to select classes at your Registration Session. Orientation sessions are designed to give students the tools they need to get off to a good start at MSU billings College of Technology.

Whether you are a first-time freshman, transfer, or readmit student, or a student returning to school after a time away, we have a session tailored to your needs. When you register for classes, visit with a staff member to select a session that is right for you.

• Tour the College of Technology campus
• Tour the University campus (an option for day time orientation sessions)
• Learn critical computer navigation information
• Get your Student ID
• Discover opportunities to get involved on campus
• Make more connections with other new students
• Families are invited to attend a special parent program at the Freshmen orientation sessions

Housing Accommodations

If you need housing accommodations in the residence halls while attending a Registration Day or August Orientation, please contact the Housing Office at 406-657-2333 prior to your scheduled orientation. There is no additional charge for the one or two night stay in the residence halls.
