COT New Student Registration Day

All new students are required to attend one of our New Student Registration Day Sessions.

We offer a variety of dates to make attending New Student Registration Day convenient for you! Choose from the highlighted dates in the calendar to the right. Please note that on some dates there is more than one session available. The following times are available:

- Morning Sessions (AM):
8:30 a.m. to 12:30 noon

- Afternoon Sessions (AFT):
1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

- Evening Sessions (PM):
5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

At New Student Registration Day, you will have the opportunity to:

• Take placement tests (Compass)
• Meet with an academic advisor
• Register for classes
• Receive an update on next steps in the financial aid process
• Meet other students
• Sign up for an Orientation Session (Students will learn more about the COT campus, student services, and also valuable computer information. Students will also get their Student ID at orientation).

Select your top three choices for a date that works best for you. You will be sent a written confirmation about the date you have been assigned to attend.

Parents, family members or guests are welcome to attend the session with your student. Please indicate on the registration form if a family member will be attending with you. Keep in mind that there will be a separate parent program at the Orientation sessions in August

Orientation for Freshman, Transfer and Readmit Students

You will sign up for an Orientation on the day you meet with your advisor to select classes at your Registration Session.  Come to your registration session with a preferred Orientation date in mind.  You can choose from the dates on the Orientation calendar on the right. 

Attend an Orientation.  On this day you will:

• Become familiar with our programs and services
• Tour the College of Technology campus
• Tour the University campus (an option for day time orientation sessions)
• Learn critical computer navigation information
• Get your Student ID
• Discover opportunities to get involved on campus
• Meet our Faculty and staff
• Make more connections with other new students
• Families are invited to attend a special parent program
